Unlearning Interpretations

In the fall of 2015, a group of Norwegian artists travel to Ghana with an intention to make more meaning of designs made by artist Toril Johannessen as part of a project called Optical Illusions. This fashion crew called HAiKw/ had been asked by Toril to use her materials printed in GTP, Ghana. The designs are a reminder of locally popular Dutch Wax Prints given meaning based on personalization, memory making and history in Ghana. The methodology of the crew find Kwame Aidoo giving response in the form of a poetry-prose piece Degrees of Overlap.
